Secrets in Boxes is a 2-hour generative workshop that considers prose poetry and ekphrasis, using the innovative art of Joseph Cornell as inspiration. Cornell, known for his intricate assemblage boxes, created poetic juxtapositions of everyday objects, inviting viewers to uncover hidden connections. In this workshop, you’ll explore how containment, juxtaposition, and amplification work within prose poetry.

What Happens When You Sign Up

You’ll receive two confirmation emails:

• A payment receipt confirming your purchase

• A workshop confirmation containing your Zoom link and any advance materials your instructor has chosen to provide

BrainTrust is a live, two-hour generative writing workshop held on Zoom. You’ll be able to participate through the chat, use your camera if you choose, raise your hand, and ask questions in real time. You’ll be given prompts and time to write during the session, so you’ll leave with new material to continue exploring.

You do not need to prepare anything unless your confirmation email says otherwise. You also do not need extensive experience, a current project, or a polished poem. Come ready to learn, experiment, and write alongside other poets.

The workshop will be recorded, and the replay will remain available for 30 days after the live session. If you have questions or need help accessing the workshop, simply reply to your confirmation email. We’re here to help.
