refund policy
Full refunds are guaranteed within the first 48 hours after purchase.
Where does your class enrollment fee go? Between 40-60% of every class fee goes directly to the teaching artist!
If you are unable to attend a class or need to cancel your enrollment, please contact us and we will begin processing your refund.
MISSED CLASSES
No refunds are given for missed classes. Please make a notification in your personal calendar with your workshop day and time. We always do our best to contact enrolled participants on the day of the class if they haven’t checked in on Zoom.
If you think you haven’t received your Zoom link please check your Junk mail! A link was sent immediately after your registration confirmation. 🥰
As a courtesy, we also send day-of-class reminders with the Zoom link. We send this as close to class time as possible so it’s at the top of your Inbox.
We understand that unforeseeable conflicts arise, if you know you cannot make it to your class you may transfer your enrollment to the next month or course opening if you contact us at least 3 days before the date of your original workshop. Our upcoming events can be found here.
And if we have a recording of the class you missed we’ll share that too. Just let us know what you need, poet. We’re always happy to work with you.

INFORMATION COLLECTION, USE, AND SHARING
As The Poetry Lab we only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.
Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about specials, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.
YOUR ACCESS TO AND CONTROL OVER INFORMATION
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via email.
SECURITY
We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the Web page.
While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online via Stripe. Learn more about Stripe’s policies here.
We also protect your information offline. Our goal is to provide a safe space for all members of our online community. If you feel that we are not abiding by this privacy policy, you should contact us immediately via email.
CANCEL your MEMbERSHIP
Community members who have joined our monthly BookBash can view and manage their membership subscriptions through their customer accounts. After logging in, click My Account, and then Subscriptions.
All subscriptions are listed in the Subscriptions section. Customers can click a subscription to view its details, including:

Product price (excluding shipping and taxes)
Subscription Frequency
Order history
Saved billing and shipping information
If the subscription has a limited number of renewals, the panel also displays the number of payments left in the subscription.
To update your payment information or change your billing address, click Payment method, and then Add a new payment method.
To cancel the subscription
Click Cancel Subscription. You'll receive an email notification when the subscription is canceled. Canceling a subscription doesn't automatically cancel the most recent order.
Instead of canceling, you can choose to delay your subscription instead. Please contact us for details.

The Poetry Lab (TM) is subject to proprietary rights. We own intellectual property rights to our company name and course titles except as expressly stated. Paying a course participation fee does not grant the Participant any rights to, under or in, any patents, copyright, database right, trade secrets, trade names, trade marks (whether registered or unregistered), or any other rights or licenses in respect of the our services or class materials. We ask that you not distribute any course materials, links, or other password protected material without the consent of the course instructor or our leadership team. We thank you in advance for respecting the intellectual property of our teaching artists and honoring their ability to earn a living from their course content.

Affiliate contributions make up less than 1% of our operating budget, but it a small helpful nudge in the direction of community sustainability.

At The Poetry Lab we only promote people that we can stand behind 100%. Gabriela Pereira is one of our long-standing community supporters and colleagues. We’ve collaborated with Gabriela and her DIY MFA program many times in the past and are proud DIY MFA 101 course affiliates for the 2021 program season.
BOOKSHOP.ORG
We also work with Bookshop.org to provide a non-Amazon option for book buying to our community members. The Poetry Lab receives 10% of all sales made through our Bookshop.org affiliate links.
