At The Poetry Lab, we believe that poetry is a radical act of resistance. In a time when federal funding for the arts is being slashed, when grant support is revoked midstream, and when the government prioritizes propaganda over creative freedom, we are still here. And we plan to stay.
We know many of our closest collaborators—community centers, literary magazines, small presses—are being gutted by the current administration. They fear an informed and expressive public. They want you obedient, uninformed, and silent. But we’re not going quietly.
We believe:
If we want art to survive, we must keep creating it.
If we want freedom of thought, we must keep teaching it.
So, this is your invitation:
Support artists. Become one. Help us build a future for the arts that doesn’t depend on the whims of any administration. And refuses to bow down to a fascist agenda.
We’re not just teaching poetry—we’re teaching people how to liberate themselves through creative expression.
Write. Your. Poems.
We will teach you how.
