We are currently closed for submissions.

ART SICK is an online poetry publication open to all forms of poetry, including prose poetry, experimental work, hybrid texts, and mixed media. We are interested in poems that feel necessary, work that has been lived with, revised, and brought fully onto the page. We value craft, not as decoration, but as something that allows the poem to carry its weight.

We accept submissions twice per year through our online submission manager and do not accept submissions via email. Reading periods are January 1 to March 31 and July 1 to September 30. Submissions are closed outside of these windows.

Writers may submit up to five poems per submission, with a maximum of ten pages total. Please include all poems in a single document in PDF or DOCX format. We accept previously unpublished work only.

Please do not include your name or identifying information anywhere in the manuscript.

There is a three dollar submission fee per submission. Simultaneous submissions are allowed, but if your work is accepted elsewhere, please notify us immediately and withdraw the accepted poem or poems.

Only one submission per poet is allowed per reading period, and no revisions may be made after submission. If your work is accepted for publication, please wait twelve months before submitting again. If your work is declined, you are welcome to submit again during the next reading period.

By submitting to ART SICK, you agree to grant first serial rights if your work is accepted. Rights revert to the author upon publication. Accepted work will be published online and remain archived as part of the publication.

We aim to respond within eight to twelve weeks after each reading period closes. While we are unable to respond personally to every submission, we read each one with care and appreciate the opportunity to consider your work.
