THE POETRY LAB PRESENTS4-Weeks on Poetic Craft
Sunday, May 17 - June 7
10:00am PT - 12:00pm PT
via Zoom
Repetition is usually used to establish a pattern, but as words repeat, they begin to take on a different meaning.
In this craft-based generative workshop, we will learn different types of repetition used in contemporary poetry, how to break these repetitions to create repetition with a difference, and how specific forms could help structure repetition.
We will read and discuss poets such as Jennifer Chang, Gabrielle Calvocoressi, Chen Chen, Natalie Diaz, and others.
By the end of the course, each participant will have a working understanding of:
✔ Literary devices such as anaphora, epistrophe, symploce
✔ Poetic form of pantoums
✔ Writing a poem using anaphora
✔ How to discuss and talk about poems for feedback
Class begins Sunday, May 17, 2026
and continues May 24, May 31, and June 7
All sessions are live via Zoom from 10:00am PT - 12:00pm PT
~
You will receive access to the online classroom where all class materials will be posted.
